14 days tour itinerary to Omo valley, Danakil depression, and northern historical religious sites

Day 1

You’re welcomed and picked up from Addis Abeba Bole international airport, In the morning we take a flight to Arbaminch, morning we will visit the Dorze tribe with a multitude of 2500m which located northwest of Arbaminch and afternoon we will drive to lake Chamo to see the African biggest crocodile,Hippos, and aquatic birds, the keep drive to konso and visit their UNESCO World Heritage Sites,Overnight Kanta lodge

Day 2

Konso-Arbore-Hamer 200km

We proceed to Arbore and and visit one of their village then continue to Hamer tribe ,to see in the afternoon, they are popular for their Bull jumping ceremony, we will attend that ceremony if it’s occur Overnight Turmi Buska lodge

Day 3

Turmi-Dassenech 200km

In the morning we proceed to Dassenech tribe across Omo river by wooden boat and visit their village afterwards drive back to Turmi and camping Hamer village by tent (Buska lodge)

Day 4

Turmi-Karo-Jinka 220km

We proceed to Karo tribe, they are the smallest tribe in Omo valley and popular for their body painting, that will be visited in the morning , on our way we will visit Banna tribe or markets depends what day , afterwards drive to Jinka Overnight Nasa Pension

Day 5

Jinka -Mursi-Addis-Semera connected flight

We drive to Mursi tribe through Mago national park and visit one of the Mursi village, They are popular for their lip plate, afterwards drive to Jinka airport for the afternoon flight to Addis Abeba then change our flight to Semera Overnight Kuriftu resort

Day 6

Semera-Erta-Ale 290km

In this day we will drive to Erta-Ale, on our way we will visit the salt lake of Afdera and will swim, after lunch we keep drive to Erta-Ale to see the Active Volcano, We will walk 30 minutes to see afterwards walk back to campsite Overnight open air

Day 7

Erta-Ale-Hamedela 125km

In the early morning we proceed to see the Volcano and sunrise then back to campsite eat breakfast afterwards, continue to Danakil depression, we will be there around 4:00pm for an amazing sunset and will visit lake Asale and lake Karum and salt mining Overnight Hamedela on open air

Day 8

Hamedela-Dallol-Mekele 240km

In the morning we proceed to Dallol (Danakil depression) Danakil depression is the most hottest inhabited place on earth, it’s the most exiting and challenging place to visit, morning we will visit Sulpher, Salt mountains,and boiling minerals, then keep drive to Mekele Overnight Romadi hotel

Day 9

Mekele-Gheralta-Axum 200km

We proceed to Gheralta monastery church of Abune Yemata church which been built in 6 century, then keep drive to Axum Overnight Yared Zema hotel (On this day we will include Yeha temple or Abreha wo Asbeha church)

Day 10

Axum-Addis by flight

In the morning we do sightseeing of Axum including Zion maria church, the longest obelisk and museum, and Queen Sheba place,then keep drive to Shire and fly to Addis Abeba Overnight Capital hotel & SPA

Day 11

Addis-Lalibela by flight

We take morning flight from Addis to Lalibela.

Get picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel, we drive 30 minutes from the airport to the town through the countryside landscape and arrive at the hotel by lunch time at the hotel and start touring the marvelous northern group of churches that consists 6 different underground churches

We will go deep into the 12th century miracle where only the faithfulness​ seems to be believing: the Churches​ include Bete Medhanialem, Bete Mariam, Golgotha, Bete Meskal, bete mickiel and gologolta and famous cross-shaped St. George Overnight Sora lodge

Day 12

Lalibela-Gonder by flight

In the morning we will visit the rest of the churches and fly to Gonder, upon arrival we will visit Fasil castle, Trinity Church, and Fasil swimming pool Overnight Haile resort

Day 13

Gonder-Simien mountains national park-Addis by flight

In the morning we proceed to Simien mountains national park for day trekking for 2-3 hours and spotting an endemic Gelada baboons through a magic landscape, afterwards drive back to Gonder and fly to Addis Overnight Capital hotel & SPA

Day 14

Relaxed morning and sightseeing of Addis Abeba including National museum, Minilik place on the top of Entoto mountain and local markets, In the evening we will take you to have a dinner in 2000 Habesha traditional restaurant then drop at Bole airport and say goodbye🙏
