8 Days Northern Historic Route Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Meet at Bole International Airport and transfer to hotel.
City tour depending on arrival time: National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Mount Entoto.
Overnight: Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar (by flight/drive)
Fly or drive to Bahir Dar.
Afternoon: boat trip on Lake Tana to visit island monasteries.
Visit Blue Nile Falls (seasonal).
Overnight: Bahir Dar.

Day 3: Bahir Dar – Gondar
Drive to Gondar (3 hrs).
Visit Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), Debre Birhan Selassie Church with its famous ceiling angels.
Overnight: Gondar.

Day 4: Gondar – Simien Mountains National Park
Excursion to the Simien Mountains.
Trekking and viewing of spectacular landscapes with endemic wildlife (Gelada baboons).
Overnight: Simien Lodge / nearby lodge.

Day 5: Simien Mountains – Axum
Drive to Axum (long day) or fly from Gondar (via Addis).
Visit obelisks of Axum, Queen of Sheba’s Palace, and St. Mary of Zion Church.
Overnight: Axum.

Day 6: Axum – Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela.
Visit the first group of rock-hewn churches (UNESCO site, 12th century).
Overnight: Lalibela.

Day 7: Lalibela (full day)
Visit the second group of rock-hewn churches including St. George.
Optional mule ride to Asheton Maryam monastery for panoramic views.
Overnight: Lalibela.

Day 8: Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Departure
Fly back to Addis Ababa.
Evening traditional farewell dinner with cultural dance.
Transfer to airport for international flight.
