3-Day Tour: Addis Ababa & Surroundings
Day 1: Addis Ababa – Abijatta-Shalla National Park (320 km round trip)
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to the Capital Hotel and Spa. After a brief rest and refreshments, we begin our journey to Abijatta-Shalla National Park, where you’ll have the chance to spot gazelles, warthogs, ostriches, and various aquatic birds along the shores of Lake Ziway — a paradise for bird watchers.
After the visit, we drive back to Addis Ababa for an overnight stay at hotel of your choice.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Debre Libanos Monastery (200 km round trip)
In the morning, we depart for the historic Debre Libanos Monastery, built in the 16th century. The tour includes a visit to the Portuguese Bridge, scenic viewpoints over the Blue Nile Gorge, and encounters with the endemic Gelada baboons.
After enjoying a picnic lunch in the area, we return to Addis Ababa.
Overnight at hotel of your choice.
Day 3: Addis Ababa City Tour (20 km)
Today is dedicated to exploring the capital. Highlights include:
- National Museum (home of “Lucy,” the famous hominid fossil)
- Menelik II Palace on Mount Entoto, offering panoramic views of the city
- Shiro Meda Market for traditional textiles and souvenirs
- George’s Cathedral, a beautiful and historically significant church
In the evening, we transfer you to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport for your departure.
